Bespoke logistics provider Peters & May Group have agreed to extend their successful partnership with the 52 SUPER SERIES for a further three years.
Having worked with the team throughout the 2015 and 2016 seasons, transporting the TP52 race boat fleet and ancillary equipment across Europe, Peters & May are well aware of the logistics required for a high profile circuit such as this.
In 2016, 12 teams travelled over six months, racing in five different locations in Tuscany, Sardinia, Mallorca, Menorca and Portugal. The Peters & May team were at hand throughout the planning stages and at each stop, loading and unloading yachts and their equipment.
2017 will see the circuit continue to expand, with the fleet returning across the Atlantic to race in Key West and Miami.
“The 52 SUPER SERIES has to be one of the most exciting fleets out there, and following them across Europe always makes for a summer full of challenges and excitement. The reward for the hard work is the respect and thanks of the race crews but also seeing the race action.”
“We can’t wait to rise to the challenges of taking the circuit to the USA in 2017, and continue to support the 52 SUPER SERIES and sailors for many years to come.” Commented Craig Stanbury, Yacht Racing Operations Director, Peters & May Group.
“Working with Peters & May is always a pleasure, they have very high standards and a professional attitude that is essential to the success of our series. They are always prepared to go the extra mile in order to deliver and we’re thrilled to have the best in the business on board for the next three years. At the 52 SUPER SERIES we are looking to expand and build upon a hugely successful series, and we will need the support and logistical knowledge of the team at Peters & May to help us get there!” Commented Agustin Zulueta, CEO, 52 SUPER SERIES.
Peters & May leads the industry with its dedicated racing logistics team that, alongside the 52 SUPER SERIES looks after clients such as the British Sailing Team, Comanche, the Transatlantic Race, the J Class and many others.
The dedicated Peters & May team orchestrate the shipment of the entire 52 SUPER SERIES fleet and support equipment after every race – transporting them with their masts up to ensure an efficient discharge upon arrival, minimising any delay in getting them on the water to go racing.
The last race of the 52 SUPER SERIES 2016 concluded in October in Cascais, with Quantum Racing taking the title for the third time. 2017 will see a fleet of at least 12 TP52s take to the waters off Key West in January as the circuit starts, the first of six 2017 regattas.
