Key Achievements in Sustainability
As of 31 December 2024, we achieved the Planet Mark Certification for the second year and have made significant strides in reducing our emissions. As part of our ongoing sustainability efforts, we’re proud of the progress we’ve made in reducing our environmental impact. Here are some key achievements:
Lowered emissions in fleet travel, natural gas and electricity use.
Scope 3 Emissions Reporting Expansion
Expanded Scope 3 emissions to include business travel, waste, and upstream transportation.
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, Peters & May has relocated its Dutch warehouse to a new, energy-efficient facility equipped with solar panels. This move not only reduces our carbon footprint but also supports our efforts to harness renewable energy in our operations. By integrating solar power into our logistics infrastructure, we are taking a proactive step towards a greener future, ensuring that our supply chain remains both efficient and environmentally responsible.
In our ongoing efforts to promote sustainability and reduce our carbon footprint, Peters & May is excited to announce the launch of two new initiatives for employees in the UK. We have introduced an electric car scheme, providing employees with the opportunity to drive sustainable, low-emission vehicles, reducing both their personal carbon footprints and the company’s overall emissions.
In addition, we have implemented a cycle-to-work scheme, encouraging staff to adopt healthier, greener commuting options. This initiative supports employees in making environmentally friendly choices while promoting well-being and reducing congestion.
As part of our commitment to sustainability and reducing energy consumption, Peters & May has upgraded the lighting in our UK warehouse from halogen bulbs to energy-efficient LED lighting. This change not only reduces our energy usage but also lowers our carbon footprint, contributing to a more sustainable and cost-effective operation. The new LED lights provide better illumination while using significantly less energy, helping us create a more eco-friendly workplace.
In line with our ongoing sustainability initiatives, Peters & May is excited to announce that we will soon be installing solar panels at our UK warehouse. This investment in renewable energy will further reduce our carbon footprint and provide a clean, sustainable power source for our operations. By harnessing the power of the sun, we are taking another significant step towards reducing our reliance on non-renewable energy and advancing our commitment to a greener future.
Sustainability Across Our Departments
Corporate Express Couriers (CEC)
As part of our sustainability commitment, CEC is proud to be part of the DHL GoGreen programme. This partnership enables us to offer carbon-neutral courier services by offsetting the emissions generated by our transportation and delivery operations. Through the GoGreen initiative, we are actively involved in global reforestation projects and renewable energy efforts, ensuring that every delivery we make is part of a sustainable, environmentally responsible supply chain. CEC is committed to further reducing its environmental impact through ongoing improvements in fleet management, energy efficiency, and waste reduction.
