Aina Bauza – Solo Transatlantic Sailing Record

Peters & May sponsors First Female to Set New Solo Transatlantic Sailing Record

Peters & May is proud to sponsor Aina Bauza, the first woman to set a solo transatlantic sailing record. The 29-year-old from Mallorca completed the 4,800 nautical mile journey from Cadiz, Spain, to San Salvador, Bahamas, in 30 days, 22 hours, and 34 minutes aboard her 6.5-meter monohull.

Despite challenging weather conditions that extended her planned route, Bauza’s experience of over 20,000 nautical miles and rigorous preparation with her support team enabled her to navigate effectively. Her achievement not only showcases her sailing prowess but also her resilience in solitude, marking a significant milestone in her sailing career.

The World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC) will officially recognize her achievement with a certificate. Through sponsoring Bauza, Peters & May reinforces its longstanding commitment to supporting the sailing community and promoting pioneering spirit in maritime adventures.

I’m really appreciative to Peters & May whose physical support has alleviated the logistical stress of getting my boat home. I can now relax and celebrate this success.
