Peters & May Returns as Official Logistics Partner for the Antigua Sailing Week

Peters & May has reaffirmed its support as official logistics partner for the Antigua Sailing Week, which runs from 30th April to 7th May 2022. Antigua Sailing Week is a major highlight in the Caribbean racing calendar and forms part of Peters & May wider sponsorship of several high-profile events that take place on the international racing circuit each year, including the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers and the prestigious 52 SUPER SERIES.

The prelude to the Antigua Sailing Week (ASW) is the Peters & May Round Antigua Race which is now available to enter following the organiser’s Notice of Race issued last month. The Peters & May Round Antigua Race is an independently scored one-day yacht race around the island of Antigua attracting over 40 boats, making it one of the more competitive circumnavigation races in Antigua & Barbuda.

Competitors who come from the Caribbean, UK, Europe, and the USA to participate in Antigua Sailing Week are eligible to enter this 53-mile race which doubles as a fiercely competitive warm-up for the ensuing 5-day series. The race is also a challenging end-of-season highlight for those that have chosen not to be a part of the ASW fleet because of scheduling but want to be a part of the kick-off. Eligible classes include CSA racing, CSA double-handed, and multi-hull.

Craig Stanbury of Peters & May says “We are very much looking forward to the Antigua Sailing Week event in 2022 and are extremely proud to have been associated with this regatta for so many years. The organizing team works extremely hard putting it together and we appreciate what it offers to the sailing community. For participants who have yet to organize the transportation of their yachts, we have a few spaces left on our upcoming departure on the MV BBC Vermont from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean; the vessel is departing the Med in January 2022.”

“After the Antigua Sailing Week ends,” added Stanbury, “Peters & May will be offering a number of departures to various destinations, so we encourage everyone who is thinking about having their yacht shipped, to speak with us and discuss their plans and requirements as early as possible.”

Jaime Torres, ASW Regatta Organiser and past competitor is enthusiastic about the upcoming event and had this to say, “I love the Round Antigua Race because it is such a perfect prelude to ASW. The long point-to-point 360-degree course offers a full serving of TWAs to the many crews that use it to test gear and prove crew just before the main event. Long legs put a premium on tuning and allow yachts to fine-tune their settings with an actual sampling of the conditions likely to be encountered for the next week.”
