Important Update Applicable To All Open Cover Insurance Policies Mentioned Above: 12 March 00:01Hrs

 

Where attached clause 305 (CN 305, CF 305 or CE 305) is incorporated into the policy, please be advised that this clause has been automatically triggered as the JCC Global Cargo Watchlist  (JCC GCWL) has classed the areas or countries presented below as “Severe” or “Extreme”.

“Shipments from, via, to or within countries and/or regions which, upon inception of the risk, are rated as ‘Severe’ or ‘Extreme’ on the JCC GCWL are not automatically covered. The cover will be subject to prior agreement and at terms and conditions to be agreed.”
 
For policies where the abovementioned clause in not incorporated, please regard this message as i) a formal incorporation of subject clause into your marine cargo policy and ii) a formal NOTICE OF CANCELLATION for WSRCC risk in the following areas (or any other area’s classed severe or higher in the beforementioned list):

  • PERSIAN OR ARABIAN GULF 
    • Marine risk in the Persian or Arabian Gulf and adjacent waters including the Gulf of Oman and waters west of the line from Oman’s territorial limit off Cape al-?add at 22°42.5’N, 59°54.5’E northeast to the Iran-Pakistan border at 25°10.5’N, 61°37.5’E
  • INDIAN OCEAN, GULF OF ADEN AND SOUTHERN RED SEA 
    • Marine risk in the waters enclosed by the following boundaries: 
    • on the northwest, by the Red Sea, south of Latitude 18°N, 
    • on the northeast, from the Yemen border at 16°38.5’N, 53°6.5’E to high seas point 14°55’N, 53°50’E, 
    • on the east, by a line from high seas point 14°55’N, 53°50’E to high seas point 10°48’N, 60°15’E, thence to high seas point 6°45’S, 48°45’E, 
    • and on the southwest, by the Somalia border at 1°40’S, 41°34’E, to high seas point 6°45’S, 48°45’E, excepting coastal waters of adjoining territories up to 12 nautical miles offshore unless otherwise provided)
  • Territorial waters of:
    • Bahrain 
    • Israel (including Palestinian Territory)
    • Iran
    • Kuwait
    • Oman
    • Qatar
    • Saudi Arabia
    • United Arab Emirates
    • Yemen

CANCELLATION will apply after a transition period of 7 days to count from midnight (24:00 hrs) March 4th, 2026, ie12th March 00:01 hrs

 

Important Update Applicable To All Open Cover Insurance Policies Mentioned Above:  22 January 2024

As of 22 January 2024 23.59hrs, for all cargo not already en route,  War, Strikes, Riots and Civil Commotion Perils covered under the Institute War Clauses (Cargo) and Institute Strikes Clauses (Cargo) are cancelled in respect of shipments to, from or within the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean defined as:

  • On the northwest, by the Red Sea, south of Latitude 18°N
  • On the northeast, from the Yemen border at 16°38.5’N, 53°6.5’E to high seas point 14°55’N, 53°50’E
  • On the east, by a line from high seas point 14°55’N, 53°50’E to high seas point 10°48’N, 60°15’E, thence to high seas point 6°45’S, 48°45’E
