After 10 days exhibiting at Southampton Boat Show, the team at Peters & May reflect on the success of another year! Not dampened by the late ‘British Summer’ storms that hit the South Coast, last week over 100 thousand visitors were expected to attend the show.
The Peters & May stand saw a steady flow of visitors, submitting various enquiries for yacht transportation on our regular Transatlantic and Mediterranean services. A highlight of this year’s show was of course the Caribbean Party held on Thursday 20th September in conjunction with Antigua Sailing Week and Antigua and Barbuda Tourism. The party is held successfully each year to promote the event and celebrate the successful Transatlantic Sailings that Peters & May provide for participants. Kicking off Caribbean style, a great party atmosphere engulfed the Peters & May stand alongside the surrounding area. The LIVE steel pan band drew in chilly visitors for whom a warming Antiguan Rum and Fever Tree Ginger Beer was a welcome beverage!
Paul Everley, General Manager of Peters & May UK commented on the event ‘Although shows are of course about business, the essence of Peters & May is the provision of a personal service. It’s through events like the Caribbean party that customers get to relax, enjoy the atmosphere and chat to our staff members about anything from logistics needs, to their plans for the weekend! After a busy show, it was just what everyone needed’.
Another high point of the show was the presentation of the cheque containing the charity donation of £15,010 raised in aid of The Breast Unit Charity, at Peters & May’s annual Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot back in June. Being in association with the charity for some years, it’s great to celebrate Peters & May’s continued support.
As another boat show draws to a close; the team at Peters & May look forward to visiting clients and partners at Monaco Yacht Show next week. Our team will be on hand for meetings, to discuss any logistics requirements.
