The first day saw the British Sailing Team descend onto the stand in force to share a cup of tea, speak with passers-by and celebrate their recent success with a bottle of bubbly or twelve! Josh Flavell, PR Manager at Peters & May commented: “We have been supporting the British Sailing Team with their logistics for over 20 years, and are hugely proud of their recent achievements. We wanted to show our appreciation for all their hard work and give the public a chance to meet their heroes, Southampton Boat Show was the ideal opportunity to celebrate!”
But the fun didn’t stop there, on Thursday afternoon Peters & May presented The Princess Alexandra Breast Unit with a cheque for over £28,000. CEO David Holley commented: “We’ve been raising funds for Breast Cancer Clinical Trials for over 3 years now, and it’s become a tradition to hand over the cheque at Southampton Boat Show. 2016 is yet another record year for us, with donations coming through our annual clay pigeon shoot and our Pink Lashings initiative.”
This was followed by a Caribbean rum party complete with steel pan band and a healthy helping of English Harbour Rum to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Antigua Sailing Week in April/May 2017!
