After months of practice, preparation and boat building; the 52 Super Series is set to kick off next week in the popular Croatian resort of Sibenik, for the first Regatta of the 2018 season.
Sibenik, known for its beautiful coastal landscape and interesting ocean terrain around the Kornati Islands offers the perfect destination to start the 52 Super Series. Thirteen teams across 9 different nations set sail on their racing adventure from the popular 5 anchor superyacht marina facility D-Marin Mandalina on 23rd May. Since the beginning of the 52 Super Series only two teams have ever won the Championship – Quantum Racing & Azzurra. Could new challenges and exciting opportunity brought by new Adriatic sailing courses open the competition up to a new team amongst the 13 racing this year? As the first of many regattas in the world’s leading mono-hull circuit, the podium is anyone’s!
In preparation for the Sibenik Regatta; the Peters & May team, as the official logistics partner of the series have been busy getting participants yachts to the start line. Transporting TP52’s from all over the world to Sibenik, our team ensured the safe arrival of yachts in time for preparations and practice before the racing begins. One loading from Palma last week saw a full shipment on its way as explained by Justo Gosalbes, Managing Director of Peters & May, Spain “After a busy few months for boat building teams, we have worked closely with participants and manufacturers as their logistics partner. It was great to see the yachts being loaded, transported and then discharged in Sibenik earlier this week. We can’t wait for the racing to begin now that the yachts are ready and raring to go!”.
The team at Peters & May wish all participants ‘Good Luck’ for the Sibenik Regatta. With the help of some great sailing conditions, everyone is confident that the Sibenik Regatta will produce some exciting racing.
