The Peters & May Forwarding team has been instrumental in the two successful shipments of a very fragile spectrometer, an apparatus used for recording and measuring spectra, from the South Coast of the UK to Newcastle via dedicated road transport and then over to Seattle, USA, via airfreight.
In order to deliver the shipment to the highest standard, the team manufactured bespoke re-useable crates for both the shipments by road and air freight. This not only protected the cargo as much as possible through transit, but also avoided the costs associated with supplying separate crates for each shipment. Our packers were on site for a total of three days designing and building the crates for the client who was impressed with how smooth the whole operation went.
Paul Blenkinsopp, Director Ionoptika Ltd commented ‘I just wanted to thank you for your help with organising our recent instrument shipments to Newcastle and the USA. The whole process was made so much easier by having you organise the complete shipment, from designing the crates and packing the system up, through customs, and on to delivery on the required day.
The whole system went very smoothly in both cases, and everything arrived in excellent condition, on time with no damage.
Both instruments are now successfully installed and working.’
