After the announcement of the acquisition of Worldwide Yacht Shipping by Peters & May in January 2018, it was clear that the Middle East was an area of focused growth. This year marked the first year at Dubai International Boat Show since the expansion of the team in the region.
The 5-day show hosted in the beautiful Dubai Canal, attracted around 30,000 visitors. With 400 boats being exhibited, Dubai International Boat Show is considered a world-class event for luxury superyachts and leisure craft. Debuting the latest yacht design and technology it is the most established boat show in the UAE, GCC and Middle East.
This year attending the show for Peters & May was CEO David Holley, alongside the team in the Dubai office. Walking the show, our team were able to catch up with a range of clients including private individuals, brokers and yacht management companies.
Steven Stanbury, Sales Director for Peters & May Dubai gave his comments “We are extremely lucky to have the Middle Eastern regions largest show just on the doorstep of our office. In an industry which is built upon relationships, events such as the Dubai Boat Show always create the perfect opportunity for us to grow upon existing relationships with clients as well as establish new associations. This year we saw some strong enquiries from potential clients whom we hope to be able to assist with their yacht transport in the near future”.
Now that Dubai International Boat Show has come to a close for another year, Peters & May’s teams in Germany and Asia gear up for shows including Stockholm and Japan later this month.
