After an action-packed season of racing at the 52 SUPER SERIES, the competition comes to a close next week with Valencia’s Sailing Week. Originally built to house the 32nd and 33rd America’s Cup, the Marina de València, is now recognised as an excellent Mediterranean race course attracting racers worldwide.
Coming out of Puerto Portals, Quantum won their third regatta of the series, having performed consistently throughout. Despite unsettled and changeable conditions in Puerto Portals, they gave another strong racing performance, putting them in 1st place overall with 131 points, 32 points ahead of Azzurra whom remain in 2nd place with 163 points. With both Platoon and Sled totalling 168 points, it’s all to play for going in to Valencia!
Valencia is always a great regatta for the team at Peters & May, right on the doorstep of one of Peters & May’s Spanish offices. As a preferred logistics supplier to the 52 SUPER SERIES, our Spanish office has worked hard throughout the series, arranging transportation of the fleet between regattas. Justo Gosalbes, Managing Director of Peters & May Spain commented on the upcoming series; “The 52 SUPER SERIES is a brilliant event and we will be sad to see 2018’s series come to an end. That being said, what a great way to round off the event… in Valencia! Every year this course produces some fantastic racing.”
As the last preparations in Valencia take place, Peters & May wish all teams the best of luck, in their final push to victory!
