After Peters & May successfully transported the fleet from Cascais to Palma on a dedicated sailing; the TP52 yachts headed to various shipyard locations to prepare for their next event. Now just around the corner, racers are ready for the penultimate regatta of the Series; the ROLEX TP52 World Championship Puerto Portals. Located in the Balearics, this popular race venue is home to some of the worlds most prestigious international events across the nautical calendar.
The close racing in Cascais is a reminder that as the final regattas approach competition is fierce! Heading into Puerto Portals, Azzurra are leading with 95 points. They shouldn’t get too comfy though as both Quantum and Platoon are fast approaching behind, just 8 points shy of Azzura’s position with 108 points. Conditions in Puerto Portals are expected to be calmer than those seen in Cascais which is renowned its strong Atlantic winds.
Hosted right on the doorstep of Peters & May’s Palma office, it’s fair to say Justo Gosalbes, Managing Director of Peters & May Spain is excited to see what results the Balearic Islands yield. Gosalbes commented: “We follow each regatta of the series as the official logistics partner to the event, but it’s always great seeing such a prestigious racing event in our hometown. So close to the end of the series, the varying conditions here in Palma, are likely to put tacticians and crews to the test! But that’s what yacht racing is all about isn’t it…pushing the limits to achieve great things.”
