Back in 1969, in the English seaside town of Poole, Robert Braithwaite dreamt of building a new kind of boat.
Sunseeker are now one of the premier yacht builders of luxury motor yachts, ranging from 50' to 155'.
Due to the unprecedented demand from the international market place for its high quality yachts, Sunseeker International identified a need for the support of an all-encompassing logistics solution for its factory, its dealers and valued clients.
Working in close collaboration with Sunseeker International, Peters & May Group has devised a tailored solution to fulfil Sunseeker’s diverse and sometimes challenging logistical requirements, which not only includes the transport of the finished yachts, multi-modal global freight forwarding support but also the invaluable customs and international trade advisory service provided by Peters & May’s in-house team lead by their Customs & VAT Manager, Simon Beck.
With a well-established track record and close working relationships already in place this was a logical step. Over the past few months reciprocal site visits have facilitated the meeting of minds of key team members, with focused discussions on how to increase service levels in order to better serve the client’s needs.
A key part of this process was the behind the scenes visit to the Sunseeker International factory by the Peters & May Loadmaster team. The team were able to see yachts in various stages of build which in turn prompted productive technical discussions to find potential improvements in future handling of yachts.
The understanding of each other’s business, product and network has helped us devise a new way of working together with the sharing of information that will see a more focused approach on the collaboration to benefit clients.
