Die 52 Super Series - der weltweit führende Grand Prix Monohull Yacht-Rennstrecken

Yacht racing in 2017 saw an unprecedented calibre of events and showdowns across notorious events like the Americas Cup and the J class World Championship, which Peters & May were pleased to support, but perhaps one of the most intriguing prospects for 2018 is the combination of sailors and teams joining the 52 Super Series following the announcement from Americas Cup champions, Team New Zealand, that the next cup will be contested in Monohulls.

As official Logistics supplier to the 52 Super Series Peters & May worked with the event organisers and teams to handle over 200 transports of their yachts, tenders, containers and support equipment over 14,000 miles via sea, road and air and have already begun planning the 2018 logistics in preparation for a busy year ahead.

2018 will see an increase of teams with several new boats and teams entering the series which includes the addition of Onda sailing team, Morning Glory Sailing team and Luna Rossa sailing team.

After confirmation that the design for the 36th America´s Cup will be monohull, three new teams will participate in the next edition of the 52 Super Series.

The teams are; Bellamente Quantum Sailing Team, Ben Ainslie Gladiator Sailing Team and Luna Rossa Sailing Team.

The 2018 season is going to be a fusion of established TP52 teams meeting the multiple expert and battle hardened 2017 Americas Cup veterans on the water across some of the most challenging and exciting venues on the Atlantic coast of Europe (Cascais) and in the Mediterranean (Croatia and Spain). To make sure the yachts and equipment gets to each event on time and in the most environmentally efficient way, 3 bespoke sailings will be arranged over the season ending with the season finale in classical Valencia, just in front of the Spanish head office.

Justo Gosalbes, P&M Spain Managing Director comments “We love being involved with the 52 Super Series and can’t wait for it to start again. We will be working over the off season shipping the new yachts and equipment for the teams in preparation for 2018 and we’re already looking forward to seeing see the new boats out there”

He continued, “Seeing what dynamic the new additions will have on the fleet with race tactics and performance is, I think, going to take the series up another notch in performance and keeps it at the pinnacle of yacht racing and exciting for us all”.
