Global boat transport experts, Peters & May, shipped Offshore Challenges’ Open 60 “Skandia” back to Southampton after Nick Moloney was forced to retire from the Vendee Globe when the keel was lost off Brazil.

As soon as news of the retirement reached Peters & May, the company made immediate arrangements with Customs and Immigration in Brazil to assist Nick’s arrival there.

“Skandia’s” cradle was then air freighted to meet the yacht in Rio and Peters & May arranged for the yacht to be loaded onto a ship which sailed to Southampton, arriving 18 days later. Once discharged from the ship "Skandia" was carried by road trailer to the Hamble from where she was returned to Cowes.
