PETERS & MAY SHIP 16 BOATS TO MIAMI BOAT SHOW

Global leaders in boat transport Peters & May have shipped 16 boats from Europe to the Miami Boat Show.

Peters & May arranged for the transportation of 3 of the boats from Boote Düsseldorf to Zeebrugge prior to loading to a 16,600 tonne ship before it in turn sailed across the Channel to load the remaining 13 craft in Southampton.

This high value cargo, consisting predominantly of motor yachts from UK manufacturers, was handled by Peters & May’s own dedicated team of “Supercargoes” - boat loading specialists - using custom-made cradles from the company’s extensive stock.

Loading of these motoryachts – which ranged from a Sunseeker Predator 82 to a Princess P70, Princess Sport P70 and P67, Sealine T60, Grand Banks Eastbay 58 and an assortment of other 40 - 47ft boats is a delicate and precise art. In Southampton the massive 200 tonne floating crane “HLV Canute” was used to lift the boats onto the ship and Peters & May contracted the services of an independent Cargo Surveyor to oversee the operation and provide a detailed report for their customers.

Peters & May’s Supercargoes then flew to Miami to meet the ship and unload the boats, handing them over to their Florida based agent for onward delivery to the Miami show.
